DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an energizing and eye-opening session on how rock climbing can support strength, balance, coordination, and confidence for people living with Parkinson’s.\nOur presenter, Dr. Laurie Mischley, ND, MPH, PhD, is a naturopathic physician, researcher, and fellow climber who specializes in the treatment and management of Parkinson’s disease.\nDr. Mischley will join the group remotely via an interactive virtual meeting to present why climbing is emerging as a powerful tool for physical and social well-being—highlighting how movement, challenge, and community come together to create meaningful benefits.\nAfter the presentation, skilled climbing instructors (belayers) from the community will guide participants through the basics of climbing. Whether you’re brand-new or have climbed before, this is a supportive, no-pressure opportunity to explore something new. All ability levels are welcome, and adaptive support will be available. Attending the educational portion and observing only is also welcome.\nCome learn, connect, and discover a fun new way to move!\nThis event is hosted by Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon in collaboration with Up Ending Parkinson’s.
