Development Coordinator: Walk Manager
Overview
The Development Coordinator will create, plan and implement meaningful and impactful experiences that generate brand awareness and foster strong community relationships while increasing revenue and attracting new supporters. The primary focus is on growing participation and securing contributions for Sole Support for Parkinson’s, a series of fundraising and awareness walks. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Executive Director.
The Development Coordinator is a detail-oriented event fundraiser ready to demonstrate skills and help drive fundraising success. The Coordinator enjoys connecting with people and helping them see how their contributions positively impact those with Parkinson’s disease. This position is key to our success and requires a highly organized, creative, and motivated person.
Job Duties
The position balances a wide range of responsibilities. In addition to fundraising events, candidates with experience in logistics, customer service, sales, volunteer management, vendor management, outreach, website and graphic design will find those skills helpful in this role. The candidate must be able to anticipate project needs, discern changing priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. The candidate will recognize personal and organization limitations (time and resources) to prioritize time and opportunities accordingly.
The incumbent will embody PRO spirit and values as s/he interacts with donors, community partners, volunteers and other staff. A genuine interest in PRO’s mission will manifest through professional and compassionate responses to the special needs of people living with PD.
In 2022, primary responsibility and focus of this position will be the success of Sole Support for Parkinson’s, a series of four Peer-to-Peer fundraising walks held in Bend, Eugene, Vancouver, and Portland. The outcome of this event hinges upon the incumbent’s ability to organize hundreds of supporters, motivating them with tools and encouragement for their fundraising efforts. The Coordinator should anticipate additional event coordination responsibilities as in-person gatherings resume and other events are vetted for viability.

- Successful fundraising event experience
- Understanding and familiarity of Peer-to-Peer fundraising best practices
- Sincere commitment to mission and overall organizational success
- Compelling writing ability, clear verbal skills, and authentic interpersonal interactions
- Bachelor's degree preferred with relevant work experience considered
