Senior Woman Drinking Coffee

In celebration of National Family Caregiver Month, Providence Brain and Spine Institute and Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon brings you an event for family caregivers.

Learn how to develop:

  • Tools for challenging emotions
  • A stronger foundation for coping
  • Personal empowerment to take better care of yourself and others

The event will also include a Mindfulness Break and Family Caregivers Stories

Lisa Lieberman has over 45 years of experience as a psychotherapist in private practice with a specialty of living with disability in the family. Her passion for her work arises from a lifetime of experience with her own family members who have experienced a variety of disabilities, allowing her to “talk her walk” for the benefit of her clients.

She is a care partner with her husband, Craig Ackerson, who has had MS for 50 years and is now quadriplegic. He needs full-time help with all aspects of care in their home. Together they are parents to Jordan, a delightful 34 year old man with autism who recently moved into his own apartment for the first time.
