Individual Giving Officer

Overview

The Individual Gifts Officer works with leadership to plan, organize and execute all aspects of PRO’s individual giving program to include major gifts, annual fund, monthly giving, and planned giving initiatives. As such, the Individual Gifts Officer will not only develop strategies but also be results oriented and exceptionally comfortable with the steps and follow through necessary to solicit gifts and foster lasting relationships for sustained support of the mission. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Executive Director.

The Individual Giving Officer serves as an exemplary representative of the organization regularly interacting with clients, members of the board and funding partners. This position requires a highly organized, detail oriented, professional and motivated person.  

Job Duties

The Individual Giving Officer brings keen focus to building and expanding the individual giving program. As such, s/he will develop strategies and must also be results oriented and exceptionally comfortable with the steps and actions necessary to cultivate, solicit and secure gifts at all levels. The position will adhere to fiscal controls, provide regular/monthly progress reports, and quickly assume independent work with little administrative support.  

The incumbent will embody PRO spirit and values as s/he interacts with donors, community partners, volunteers and other staff. A genuine interest in PRO’s mission will manifest through professional and compassionate responses to the special needs of people living with PD. 

The Individual Giving Officer has responsibility for effective implementation of all aspects of PRO’s individual giving programs, starting with the creation of an annual development strategy and communication plan. The individual giving program includes Annual Fund, Monthly Giving, Planned Giving and Major Gifts elements with the goal of creating and fostering lasting relationships for sustained support. The incumbent will leverage engagement in special events as well as direct campaigns to achieve giving goals. 

  • Lead soliciter for mid-level and major gifts
  • Responsible for all aspects of annual fund activities
  • Secure expanded participation in monthly giving
  • Firmly establish planned giving program
  • Participate in corporate and foundation partnerships

Key Qualifications

  • Four or more years non-profit fundraising experience, at least two years directly engaged with individual and major donor initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • Sincere commitment to mission and overall organizational success
  • Compelling writing ability, clear verbal skills, and authentic interpersonal interactions
  • Experience developing fundraising strategy, design and execution of campaigns is essential
