Prepare with Knowledge
Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and progressive illness, requiring you to remain alert and vigilant as symptoms and care conditions evolve and change. Of course, it’s complicated. There is no single course of symptom progression. Families have different resources and coping skills. Response to therapies may vary from person to person and over time. The reassurance and information you most need when newly diagnosed may give way as new pressing situations present.
Throughout the year and across the region, PRO organizes opportunities for you to talk with and learn from talented professionals working to care for the needs of people with Parkinson’s. Whether a presentation about service dogs at a local support group, or lecture on clinical breakthroughs from a noted researcher, it is never too soon to start building your base of understanding and knowledge.
