Mindful Movement with Parkinson’s (Seated), Corvallis

The class includes practice and exploration of posture, balance and fall prevention, flexibility and coordination and Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!) Moves. Our pace is appropriate for those with advanced symptoms. We do seated movement practices and some standing, if a student is able to do so safely. We also include vocal, facial and finger dexterity practice, as well as some higher intensity movement.

Parkinson’s Warriors Exercise Class, Eugene

Level 1-2 class is designed for those who are independently mobile 75 minutes of research-backed exercise, specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s Start with Parkinson’s specific exercises to open, extend and warm up the body Non-contact boxing incorporating gait work, cognitive, voice and intensity. Strength training using weights, bands, ball and/or cordless jump ropes Vocal exercises incorporated throughout your workout to help with/prevent voice disorders symptoms Footwork and agility exercises to improve balance. Fun, confidence-boosting and community building!

This class is best for individuals that are able to work and move independently.

The Albany support group is for PwP and their supporting family members. This group meets monthly. Participants should contact the group facilitator, Lynn at 541-936-6154 prior to attending first meeting.

The Salem area support group welcomes people with Parkinson’s, friends and supporting family. The group meets monthly at Trinity Covenant Church.

This group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Corvallis Community Center. The group is open to people with Parkinson’s, care partners, friends, and family. Before attending, please contact Libby with PRO at 541.345.2988.

This support group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 10:30 am. It is open to people with Parkinson’s, care partners, family, and friends. This group meets in person at Westminster Presbyterian in Eugene.
